What is a nursery or playroom without toys scattered around? Making miniature toys is a joyful project — there is something wonderful about creating tiny versions of the playthings we all know and love. These little details will make your miniature playroom feel full of fun and imagination.
Step by Step
Step 1 — Create a Tiny Ball
Roll a small piece of clay into a round ball and let it dry, or use a small round bead. Paint it with bright colours — stripes, polka dots, or sections like a beach ball. A colourful ball is one of those simple toys that immediately says "a child plays here".
Step 2 — Make a Pull Toy
Thread a piece of string through a bead and tie a knot so the bead stays at the end. The bead becomes the body of the pull toy. You can paint it to look like an animal, or glue on tiny paper ears and a tail. Attach small beads underneath as wheels for an extra-realistic touch.
Step 3 — Fold a Paper Plane
Take the tiniest piece of paper you can work with and fold it into a miniature paper aeroplane. It does not need to fly — it just needs to look like a paper plane. Place it on the floor of your playroom as if a little mouse child just threw it across the room.
Step 4 — Build Blocks from Clay
Shape small pieces of clay into cubes and let them dry. Paint each block a different bright colour — red, blue, yellow, green. You can even add tiny letters or numbers on the sides if your hand is steady enough. Stack a few and leave some scattered on the floor for a natural, playful look.
