Tiny Posters and a Pin Board

Make miniature posters, notices, and a pin board for your dollhouse walls. A wonderful way to add personal touches and tell stories in your miniature rooms.

A pin board covered in tiny posters, notes, and postcards instantly gives a miniature room so much character. It tells a story about who lives there, what they love, and what they are up to. This is a lovely project that lets your imagination run wild with all the little details.

Step by Step

Step 1 — Create Mini Posters

Draw or print tiny posters on small pieces of paper. Think about what your miniature character would pin up — a concert poster, a recipe, a shopping list, a drawing by their child, a holiday postcard. The more personal the details, the more real the scene feels.

Step 2 — Make the Pin Board

Cut a small rectangle of cardboard for the board. If you have a thin piece of cork, glue it onto the cardboard for an authentic cork board look. Otherwise, paint the cardboard a warm brown or sandy colour. You can add a thin frame around the edges with strips of paper or cardboard.

Step 3 — Attach Posters and Notes

Arrange your mini posters, notes, and pictures on the board. Overlap them slightly for a natural, lived-in look. Glue them in place, or if your board is thick enough, use the tiniest pins you can find. Add a few at angles, as if they were pinned up in a hurry.

Step 4 — Hang on the Wall

Attach the finished pin board to the wall of your miniature room with a drop of glue. Place it near a desk or in a kitchen — wherever your miniature character would naturally have one. Stand back and admire how much life it adds to the space.
