This mission comes from our founder's own childhood. Karina Schaapman grew up as the child of a single Indonesian mother in the Netherlands, living in one room while facing poverty and discrimination. Her mother showed her how imagination could transform their tiny space into a world of stories and warmth. The Mouse Mansion is the neighbourhood Karina wished she had – where differences are celebrated and where neighbours support each other. She builds everything from cardboard and scraps to show children that creativity isn't about what you have, but about seeing possibilities everywhere.
