Classroom Furniture Kit — Assembly Tutorial

Put together your Mouse Mansion classroom furniture kit step by step. Desks, chairs and a blackboard — everything for a miniature mouse school.

School is in session and the mice need somewhere to sit. This classroom furniture kit comes with all the laser-cut wooden pieces for desks, chairs and a blackboard — everything you need to set up a proper miniature school. It is a straightforward build with a wonderful result, especially once you write something tiny on that blackboard.

Handy: our classroom furniture kit has desks, chairs and a blackboard.

Step by Step

Step 1: Assemble the Student Desks

Pop out the desk pieces and start assembling them one at a time. Each desk has a flat top and legs that slot into place. Apply a thin line of wood glue to each joint and make sure the desktops are level. You will have several desks to build, so find a rhythm — it goes faster than you think once you have done the first one.

Step 2: Build the Teacher's Desk

The teacher's desk is slightly larger than the student desks. Assemble it the same way, but pay extra attention to making it sturdy — it is the focal point at the front of the room. If your kit includes a small drawer or shelf underneath, attach that once the main frame is solid and dry.

Step 3: Construct the Chairs

The chairs are the most detailed pieces in this kit. Glue the seat to the legs first, then carefully attach the backrest. Small pieces require a light touch — use just enough glue to hold them firmly without making a mess. Let each chair dry upright so the legs set straight. A wobbly chair would never do in a proper classroom.

Step 4: Create the Blackboard

The blackboard is a simple flat panel with a frame and a small ledge at the bottom for chalk. Glue the frame around the board and attach the ledge. If you want the board to actually look like a blackboard, paint the center panel with dark green or black chalkboard paint. Once dry, you can write on it with a sharpened piece of chalk.

Step 5: Arrange the Classroom Layout

Place the teacher's desk at the front of the room with the blackboard on the wall behind it. Arrange the student desks in neat rows facing forward, each with a chair tucked in. Step back and look at the layout — adjust the spacing so it feels balanced. A well-arranged classroom immediately looks like a place where little mice go to learn.

Make It Your Own

A classroom is full of opportunities for tiny details. Paint the desks and chairs in natural wood tones or give them a coat of cheerful color. Write a lesson on the blackboard — the alphabet, a sum, a drawing of a cat. Add miniature books and pencils on the desks, a tiny globe on the teacher's desk, or a paper map on the wall. You could even make a small school bell from a bead. The more details you add, the more the classroom comes alive with the feeling that school is about to start.
