Christmas in the Mouse Mansion is something truly special. Imagine a tiny tree decorated with the smallest ornaments, strings of miniature lights along the walls, and beautifully wrapped presents under the tree. This project brings all of that holiday magic to your miniature house, and it is even more fun than decorating a real one.
Step by Step
Step 1 — Make a Tiny Tree from a Paper Cone
Roll a small piece of green paper into a cone shape — this is your Christmas tree. You can make it bushy by cutting fringes along the edges before rolling, or keep it smooth for a modern look. Glue the edge to hold the cone together and trim the bottom so it stands up straight.
Step 2 — Create Ornaments from Clay
Roll tiny balls and shapes from clay to make ornaments. Let them dry completely, then paint them in festive colours — red, gold, silver, blue. You can also use the smallest beads you have as ready-made ornaments. Glue them onto the tree, spacing them around all sides so it looks full and decorated.
Step 3 — String Miniature Lights
Thread small colourful beads onto thin wire or thread to create a string of miniature lights. Drape them around the tree or along the walls and mantelpiece of your room. If you paint the beads in bright colours — red, yellow, green, blue — they look just like a real string of fairy lights.
Step 4 — Wrap Tiny Presents
Cut small rectangles and cubes from paper or cardboard and wrap them in colourful paper. Tie a tiny piece of thread around each one as a ribbon, or add a small paper bow on top. Make presents in different sizes and stack them under the tree. A gift tag the size of a grain of rice is the perfect finishing touch.
