Tiny Sweets from Polymer Clay

Shape the cutest tiny sweets and candy from polymer clay with bright colours, stripes, and little wrappers. A cheerful, easy project that is pure fun!

Making tiny sweets from clay is pure, joyful fun. Bright colours, playful shapes, little stripes and twists — this is the kind of project where you can just relax and let your creativity flow. There are no rules here, just the pleasure of making the most colourful, cheerful little candy you can imagine. You are going to have such a good time with this one.

Step by Step

Step 1: Form Candy Shapes

Start by making a variety of candy shapes — small rolls, little round balls, and twisted pieces. Roll clay between your palms for round shapes, or on your work surface for longer rolls. Do not aim for just one type. A mix of different shapes makes the sweetest-looking collection. Think about the kinds of candy you love and try to recreate those shapes in miniature.

Step 2: Add Stripes by Layering Colours

This is where your sweets really come to life. Take thin strips of a contrasting colour and wrap them around your candy shapes to create stripes and swirls. You can twist two colours together for a barber-pole effect, or press thin lines onto the surface for simple stripes. Bright, bold colour combinations work best — think red and white, pink and yellow, blue and green.

Step 3: Shape Wrappers

For wrapped candies, flatten a small piece of clay and place your candy shape in the center. Twist or pinch the ends to create that classic sweet wrapper look. These little wrappers add so much character and make your tiny sweets look like they came straight from a candy jar. A toothpick can help you shape the twisted ends.

Step 4: Bake

Arrange all your tiny sweets on a parchment-lined tray and bake according to the instructions on your clay packaging. Once cooled, you will have a wonderful little collection of colourful candy ready to fill a miniature sweet shop, a tiny jar, or a dollhouse candy bowl.
