About Sam & Julia (The Mouse Mansion)
The Mouse Mansion, originating from Karina Schaapman's successful book series, has grown into an internationally recognized children's brand with worldwide distribution of books, toys, an animated series, and webshop. Our unique museum/shop at Muntplein in Amsterdam forms the heart of this creative concept, where the original miniature worlds are exhibited and visitors from around the world are welcomed daily. As a family business with international ambitions, we coordinate all global activities from our office above the shop. The shop functions not only as a point of sale, but as an experience center where visitors discover the complete Mouse Mansion universe.
About the internship
As a video production intern at Sam & Julia, you'll dive into the world of content creation and visual storytelling. You'll work on a major video project creating professional instructional videos for our Mouse Mansion Academy - a platform where customers learn how to craft their own Mouse Mansion. You'll have the opportunity to experience the complete video production process and make real impact on how thousands of children worldwide engage with our products.
In this role, you'll work directly with our videographer Michal and have the freedom to develop your creative vision within our brand guidelines. You'll learn not only the technical side of video production, but also how to use visual content to strengthen an international children's brand.
What will you do?
- Produce professional instructional videos for the complete product line
- Apply the Sam & Julia style guide across all video content
- Design titles and graphic elements for videos
- Edit videos and handle post-production tasks
- Upload and organize content in the Academy tool
- Optimize videos for various social media platforms
- Work one day per week in our shop to understand products and customers
- Give live demonstrations and create point-of-view content for social media
- Systematically document all craft products for the video library
Who are we looking for?
- An enthusiastic university/college student with passion for video production and design
- You're creative, structured, and hands-on
- You have experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- You can work independently within brand guidelines
- You speak and write fluent Dutch and English
- Experience with graphic design and motion graphics is a plus, but not required
- You're curious about new content formats and social media trends
- You're available for at least 4 months, 32-40 hours per week
